The only magic this place has is to take as much money from you as they can. When you arrive you pay for the room, they have kids that can't be more than 10 years old run our baggage to the 5th floor (no lift) they take you to the roof for the view which is the only thing that is as advertised. The room smells of perfume so badly that it will make you sick so we turned off the AC. The room is FILTHY! We went upstairs to eat at their "restaurant" they show you photos of menus from their phone, no real menu. We were hungry so despite our skepticism we ordered anyway. When the food arrived 1.5 hours later the meat was cold and the salad was warm. The "grilled chicken" was kabob removed from the skewer. They very obviously ordered street food, replaced it and charged us 4x more. After our "dinner" we went back to the room and discovered why they pump the perfume thru the vent. The smell was horrendous. It smelled worse than an outhouse in Tijuana. We made an attempt to bear the conditions. We even opened the window that opened into a garbage filled galley.I had to clean the shower before using it, it leaked all over the floor. The sink blocked the shower door so unless you are skinny there is no way to fit. The entire staff was on the roof watching soccer and screaming at 11pm. After an hour the smell continued to worsen and we started to feel nauseous. When we actually made the decision to leave they attempted to stop us and ask us what was wrong, they tried to take our bags out of our hands it took 5 minutes to wrestle ourselves away from them. The entirety of Giza is operated like the Mafia and these people were low level crooks. Do not be fooled by their glamor they are bad people with silver tongues. If you want to see the pyramids come on an organized tour and don't stray from your guide. If you try and set up the tour thru the hotel ( any hotel) they will charge you 4x as much as you would pay if you book online. Shame on bloggers for not warning us! Unfortunately we ran out before taking to many pictures but you can get the idea from what I do have.Dont trust anyone here! I've traveled the world and have even had encounters with the Mexican cartel and I've never felt more...
Read moreMisleading from get go. The name of the hotel is “Dood Pyramids Hotel” on booking, however, the actual name of hotel is “Magic Pyramids Inn”. The booking.com listing stated 2 double beds with a garden view, we were however put in a room with no windows in the interior of the building with wet towels on the bed causing the entire bedding to be wet. There is no elevator and the reception area is a small desk with 2 chairs on either side. The room was rather dated and appeared nothing like the pictures listed on booking.com. The location of the hotel is down a dirt street where you must play hopscotch over the camel and horse droppings. As we sat in the room contemplating our life choices and deciding to go in search of another hotel, as we made our way back down the steps we were immediately questioned on where we were going and had to just walk out the door to stop the conversation. After acquiring another hotel room elsewhere and returning to check out they saw us with our belongs and hopped up off the chairs asking what was wrong. I stated the booking was for a room with a garden view to which they retorted there is a garden view from the roof - when I stated the booking said the room had a garden view they told me they knew a hotel with a view, I also mentioned the wet bedding and got no response to that one. At this point I just walked out of the hotel and walker away. The hotel is cheap and they say you get what you pay for, however, you certainly won’t get...
Read moreThis hotel listed itself as “Pyramid View Inn, (a quality hotel across from the pyramids) it is definitely not this place. It is actually a few blocks away and is called Magic Pyramid Inn. The photos did not match the booking and the manager Samy was unresponsive when I addressed this falsified info/photos. The view from the balcony is good, rooms were clean, and there is hot water in some of the rooms (I had to switch rooms 2 times- i booked a room with Mountain View and was put into a room with no windows, then, moved to a room with a small door/balcony but still felt claustrophobic, then moved back to the original room because hot water didn’t work in the previous one.) The saving grace of this place is the staff- Despite Samy being unresponsive and falsifying information, the staff was so kind and did their best to accommodate me with fixing the room issues. They were helpful and offered good...
