TL;DR - They constantly missed their own deadlines, they are terrible at keeping you informed of their progress, and they will cheat you out of money with the delivery.
Full story - We purchased a custom couch in June 2024. We were quoted 10-15 days for it to be made and delivered to us. We then heard absolutely nothing and we reached back out in early August. We were told that the deadline was missed due to "damaged fabric" arriving at their factory. We understood and accepted that these things can happen. We were told it would be 2 weeks. We again heard nothing and had to reach out to find out what the status was. They advised that the fabric had still not arrived. I requested a discount for the hassle/delay and they refused. They did offer free delivery given the circumstances, which I appreciated, but it is not acceptable that they wouldn't proactively contact us if they were going to miss their own deadlines. Every time I spoke or texted with someone there, I would be told something like "I'll follow up with you on X date for an update" but they would 100% of the time never make that phone call. Finally in early September we were given a delivery date. I received a phone call from Brad on the delivery date stating that they couldn't get a hold of the factory so they couldn't make the delivery. A new delivery date 4 days later was set. I received a call on that date saying that there was a problem with the factory and they again couldn't make the delivery. We booked the delivery for 1 week later and it did finally arrive in late September.
I had also previously inquired if my old couch could be taken away. When Brad called me about the first missed delivery date, he did mention that they could pickup my old couch for $50, or if I opted to have them donate it to a place like Goodwill then they would pick it up for free. When the delivery arrived, they had no idea about this offer and told me it would be $130 to take my couch away. I called Deep House back and they informed me that they have no control over what they might charge since it is a 3rd party delivery company. Why then was I told by Brad that they could donate for me at no charge?
Any individual one of these issues would be forgivable, but they all add up to a pretty awful experience. If they had told me up front that it would take 3 months instead of 2 weeks, that would have been fine. If they had met any of the deadlines they set for themselves (calling me on X date, building the couch on time, not missing 2 of the 3 delivery dates they scheduled) that would have gone a long way. If they ever proactively called me when there was a problem with the fabric, that would have helped, but I had to call them to find out there was a problem. And finally after all of that, they promised me a free pickup of the old couch that suddenly became $130.
The couch is fine, though it did arrive with some damage along one of the seams. The service was terrible....
Read moreHands down - the ABSOLUTE BEST!! Riq!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for making our Jazz Home Retreat absolutely phenomenal! And a special thanks to your team: Matthew & Hector as well as the delivery guys, Jesse & PhilipĂ© (and others)đ So, my husband & I started the conversation w/ Riq with intention of having our relatively new couch reupholstered to fit a new look for AirBnB. And that conversation turned into getting AMAZING custom furniture, curtains, linens, decor, etc., etc. for the entire home!! Itâs a joy collaborating with Riq. He saw to it that every piece is custom, designer, high quality, & handled with care. Heâs been to our place multiple times to put things together with the team and has even come after hours to ensure that we were happy. If something was damaged in shipping or transport, he quickly offered best solutions. There were some items that were not going to fit our timeline, and the new options that he suggested were even better than our original plans. Sometimes it was hard to make choices, because each option was so stunning. We are actually working on 2 projects and in conversation about a 3rd project. My husband & I recognized that what weâve undertaken is usually takes about 6 months. And in less than 1 month Deep House has complete our Jazz Retreat and is currently providing the finishing touches of our #2 project. Those pics will be uploaded soon! Thanks again Deep House for manifesting our vision!! đ€ đ€ Looking forward to...
Read moreI recently moved downtown and was in need of furniture for my new space. While walking around, I happened to notice a sign on the sidewalk that led me to this hidden gem of a furniture store. Itâs tucked away, and I honestly would have never known it was there if I hadnât crossed the street and checked it out.
As you walk up the long ramp to enter, you get a bit of a workout, but trust me, itâs worth it! The ramp is lined with an eclectic, modern collection of furniture, and it feels like youâre stepping into a new world. The pieces are beautifully made, and everything is so unique. I was immediately struck by how different and creative everything was.
At the top, I met Enrique, who was very welcoming. At first, I just browsed on my own, but he took the time to follow up with me and explain that almost everything in the store can be customizedâfrom fabric to size. This was a game changer for me! The prices are reasonable, especially for the quality and level of customization youâre getting. Enriqueâs knowledge and service were exceptional, and Iâve since returned to furnish both my office and apartment.
Every piece Iâve bought so far has been perfect, and I canât wait to get more. The combination of the unique finds and excellent service makes this store a standout in the area....
