I went there for the first time on a whim because my hair doctor (that’s what I call her) of 5 years shut her shop down to isolate - that said, she’s in a high risk area of Manhattan, but still, I was canceled on not even an hour before my appointment and that left me really disheartened since I commuted an hour to get to her. Then I did a Google Search of salons nearby and saw Patty’s had great reviews. I mean, it was near my train station AND it was open, so I took a leap of faith. Let’s just call this a post St. Patty’s Luck of the Irish WIN!!!!! I found Ellie, who not only took the time to examine my hair thoroughly and provide options/routes, she also was there so calm my overly ambitious treatment plan. She was there to help, treat, and style to align with my NEEDS and wants. She also recommended products and outlined step by step what she intended to do on me. She could tell I was skeptical, but her honest and calm nature put me at ease. Coming from someone who does not take these appointments lightly (my hair is sensitive and fragile), I am happily ecstatic and surprised with the results. Picture going to a doctor, getting a treatment plan, and then walking out with results that far exceed your expectations!! I am definitely going to have my mom, cousins, aunts, friends, coworkers, etc go to Ellie. I am always stopped and admired for my hair, so I can’t wait to recommend Ellie and have all my fabulous ladies looking...

It's so hard to find a good hair stylist that actually listens and does what looks good on YOU. This salon was a heaven sent! I traveled to NY for an important event. I have difficult Hispanic hair followed by a terrible haircut I got by someone else here in Florida. But Elly fixed ALL of that for me! 😍 She charged me way less than the bad haircut lady in Florida did, and in return I got gorgeous hair for the event that whole night! Hair was done so well it WAS STILL IN PLACE WHEN I WOKE UP THE NEXT DAY! No sticky messes, not a load of pins, no weird fixes, no pain, no fuss, no frizz. And I know I already said it, but omg the price was RIGHT! I tipped well over 25% and only wish I could have tipped more.. I was that happy with it. And I'm literally never happy with what hardly anyone does on my hair, but when I left Patty's salon I felt beautiful and excited for my evening. I got compliments all night and the pictures speak for themselves -- great results, great price.. and omg Elly is sooooo cool! She is so chill and competent and clearly loves what she does. You just know you're in good hands as soon as you walk in. The only downside was that I couldn't pack her up and bring her down here to Florida with me!! Def 5 stars and next time I go to NY, I have my hair lady! Thanks...

This place is the best! Ellie works miracles on my hair! I have had the most damaged hair in the entire world, and I first went to her for just a haircut. She gave me such a good haircut/style that it looked like my hair was new and fluffy and thick! I later did keratin treatments with her even though I was very nervous about it. I’ve seen keratin treatments just rob the life out of the hair of my friends. But she really took her time and was very thorough, to the extent that my hair not only looked beautiful, but it regained so much life! It’s now been able to grow longer than it ever has in my life. All my friends have been asking me where I get my hair done!

She’s very reasonable priced, which is surprising for someone working in the middle of midtown!

Another the main ways you can really tell she’s one of the best is that she has like a million regulars who will only go to her. It’s hard to even tell a hair salon is at that location since it’s in the 14th floor of a building in the middle of herald square. So people usually only go to her based on other people’s recommendations, and then just stick with her.

She’s also very good at all types of hair. I myself am half black. I’ve seen her do hair of all ethnicities, and men’s hair as well.
