We walked in without reservations it’s a nice outdoor area where you can sit by the water the waiter was very nice he spoke English which is a plus for us !! the menu is mainly I think your best bet is for Italian Pasta and pizza I had the special trout which was just okay it came with delicious french fries we also had the goat cheese and beet salad which I like very much ! Czechoslovakian specialty dish with meat and dumplings thought it was good and tasty !!!they do take charge cards which makes me very happy when I’m traveling it looks like it’s a very popular place so if you can get reservations do that but if not walk in I’m sure you will get seated they put us at a table where if other people came which they did we had to share the table no problem they didn’t speak English and we didn’t speak Czechoslovakian

We came with high expectations due to the rave reviews on TripAdvisor, and I must say that this restaurant really lives up to the hype. The waiters were really friendly and took their time to explain the Specials menu to us. For starters, we got the escargot, which was baked in pesto and butter, instead of the usual garlic. Together with the bread served in olive oil, the flavours of the escargot went so well with the bread. The beef carpaccio was great as well. We ordered the tagliatelle pasta from the special menu, and let's just say that it was a must-order, with the pasta being perfectly al dente, and the earthiness of the mushrooms and saltiness of the prosciutto ham complementing each other perfectly. This was really chef's kiss. This restaurant really deserves all its accolades and great reviews. A must-go!

Worst experience ever with this restaurant. We were there for lunch and waited quite a while to be seated and no one attend to us. So my husband went in to look for the staff but he was stopped by this staff in blue, saying similar to this: ' You can't come in. We are very busy and if I have time then can let you come in!" Wow how unprofessional way to greet your customers. As we didn't want to waste time searching another restaurant, we just gave them another chance, seated and placed our order, we have waited a while and as we saw those who have ordered after us have had their food served, I went to check at the counter on the status of our order or if they missed our order. The staff in red was trying to find out more info from me but in the midst of speaking I was interrupted by this staff in blue (which I later realized is the same person who greet us at the entrance with his rude attitude and my husband told me apparently he is one of the owners whose picture is at the back of the menu). He said he don't know and he doesn't seem to be bothered to know. He said they want to serve us with best food and experience so we will have to wait. And I really get to encounter his so called "Best Experience" as he looked at me raised his voice and repeated 4 TIMES, SIT DOWN PLEASE!!! 4 TIMES !! OMG! I can't remember if he did say PLEASE as I was shocked with such RIDICULOUSLY RUDE manner. Come On! Is not like I don't understand English, is just a simple question not even a demand and I was not even arguing wit him but he CHOSE to respond and treat his customers with such disrespectful tone and manner. Is utterly disappointing and I felt strongly that I have to leave a honest review to be fair to any patrons as well as a chance for him and the company to hopefully learn from this experience and improve. I am also doing business but that is definitely not the way to treat your customers if they still want to continue business in the long run. To conclude food is not as he claimed the best, well maybe to their own standard. Soups are sourish, ribs and carbonara spaghetti are dry. I have checked with my other friends who have been cesky krumlov there are definitely better options out there. Yup and like what other reviewers have said they did highlight the Service charge is not included, obviously hinting that you should tip. Won't recommend anyone to visit in my honest opinion.

Although the view was nice, the Google reviews were good, there were many people on the terrace...and this attracted us, this was a terrible experience! We ordered their burger which was partly uncooked and FULL of gristles. The worst part was the "home-made" fries which were a total disaster! Fresh potatoes which were fried in burned oil. Result? You get burned potato skin and uncooked interior. Horrific! We asked if we could get something else for the side dish ...like anything else that could just be decent. Little later, it even became funny as we got another portion of potatoes which were cut in a different way but cooked just the same.😂 We were billed for the second portion of the same inedible potatoes and the waiter asked us to leave a tip (via POS) twice! I'm really sorry for the potential this location has. As always, it's all about the humans who manage it!

Unique name for a restaurant. Papa’s Living is a stowaway hidden off from main road from the busy street of Cesky Krumlov, Old Town. The interior is cosy that resembles a family cottage styled bistro without being too overly extravagant. Service in restaurant was good and attentive to our needs and ordering was made easy with friendly staff’s recommendations. The food we ordered had fallen short of our expectations as we were enthusiastically amused by the recommendations earlier. The taste of both the grilled prawns and the pork ribs were too dry that the flavors doesn’t carry it through to spark any joy in our palate. Perhaps the saving grace, would be the starters, Beef Carpaccio, that the beefy taste paired nicely with the arugula and cheese that managed to tickled our taste buds intriguingly.

5 stars for service but only 3 stars for the food. Started with the onion rings which were nothing to call home about. Then we had the filet steak with peppercorn sauce. The peppercorn sauce was a little over powering but the steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. We also had the sirloin with cranberry glaze. Who would put cranberries on a steak. I understand mixing sweet and savory but the sweetness of the glaze overpowered the savory and wasn't too enjoyable. The steak itself was cooked perfectly but was a little tough. For dessert we had the sorbet and the Panna Cotta. 5 stars for dessert. Would we come again? Sure! Would we order the cranberry glazed sirloin? NOPE!
