We ordered the pak choy dish. And to our shock, it came out with all the green leaf parts cut off, leaving just a plate of stems. The picture in below clearly shows how different it looks compared to the menu picture. We could literally see the cut marks on each piece. They probably get away with this because some people aren’t familiar with this dish. Being of Chinese origin, I found this extremely evil and disrespectful. Since the green leaf parts are more tasty and valuable, they cut them off and use them in other dishes like ramen. The leftover stems have no taste and are often thrown away. Except this place thinks they can serve them to customers.
We decided to not touch the plate and asked to return it. The manager came over and rudely argued with us saying that’s “how the dish should look because pak choy doesn’t grow green leaves in the winter”! Not sure who she was trying to trick because this is straight up wrong and stupid. Then we pointed out that one of the ramen dishes we ordered had the GREEN LEAF parts. Then she just straight up said we can’t return it sorry and left.
When it came time to pay, we tried to explain to them again that we never touched the dish because it was NOT what we ordered and looked nowhere like the picture in the menu which showed green leaf parts attached. The manager again argued back rudely, and this time with a more ridiculous excuse. Remember earlier I mentioned that the stem pieces had cut marks. Now she accused us of biting off the green parts ourselves. Then she threatened to call the police. Of course we agreed and said yes please call the police. We had taken pictures of how the dish came and if the mall and cameras they could all serve as evidence. In fact, we wanted to call the police ourselves. Realizing that her tactic wasn’t gonna work she said “ok just pay I won’t call the police” while still trying to charge us for that dish of leftover stem we NEVER TOUCHED.
The dish was not expensive, this might not have been a big deal to many. But we were extremely angry at the injustice and the fact that they tried to scam us and had the audacity to accuse us of such...
Read morePoor waiter service: my wife and I patronized Thai Thai & Ramen for dinner. After ordering the Thai red curry dish, together with Tom Yum Kung, and glass noodles with beef, we placed an order for 2 servings of jasmine rice. The waitress who was taking the order failed to advise us that a portion of rice was already included in the red curry dish that we had ordered. When food was served, we realized that we were served with an excess bowl of rice, and we canceled the order for rice. Then a male waiter came over to our table, told us that the red curry dish actually includes a serving of rice, and he shook his head and rolled his eyes at us.
Quality of food: the shrimps served in the Tom Yum Kung have a marshy texture that indicates a lack of freshness. The dessert, glutinous rice with mango, was another let down, the mango was not ripe and the coconut milk was too diluted, very different from the authentic dessert that should be sweet ripened mango and thick coconut milk. In addition, the beef stir fried with the glass noodles is over cooked...
Read moreThe Thai restaurant nestled within the Palladium shops exceeded expectations. The pad thai with shrimp was a standout, perfectly balanced in flavors and textures, while the yellow chicken curry, paired with white rice, added a delightful variety to our shared meal.
The flexibility of adjusting spice levels was a pleasant surprise, as they accommodated my request for a little more heat, enhancing the overall dining experience.
What makes this spot even more appealing is the reasonable pricing. For two satisfying lunches and refreshing Thai teas, the bill came to just $35, providing excellent value for the quality and quantity of the dishes.
One aspect to note is that the restaurant operates on a cash-only basis, a detail worth remembering to ensure a smooth payment process. Despite this, the overall experience was a flavorful journey through Thai cuisine, making it a worthwhile stop within the Palladium shops for those seeking an affordable...
