BISTRO 23 — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

We picked this place for a light dinner after a wonderful day trip to Copenhagen. Our waiter, Christian took our order of 2 salads and the other couple we were sharing the table with ordered separately including one cold starter. The starter had been brought and finished and 50 minutes later there was no sign of our meal. Other customers who had arrived after us were served but not us. I went to speak to our waiter Christian,(since no one would make eye contact) to check on our order and mentioned that we would need to leave fairly soon to make our return flight. He was very unpleasant and said it was not his problem. The food would be served in one minute. It wasn't of course. We waited another 10 minutes and then I spoke to him again. He did not attempt to manage the situation or apologise just said it was my fault and curtly dismissed me. We could leave but we would pay for everything ordered or he would call the police. Since we had not been served any food I remonstrated with him and then the abuse started. I asked if we could at least take something with us in a container. The answer was no. I was told to shut up and pay or else... We were astounded by his rudeness but unfortunately knew we did not have enough time to speak to a manager and take the matter further.

We got up to leave and were chased by Christian who hurled foul-mouthed abuse at us for everyone to hear; including the c word which he took great relish in using. To say we were shaken and pretty traumatised by his reaction and appalling behaviour is an understatement. I have never been subjected to such vile verbal abuse by anyone - especially not by a waiter in what seemed like a decent restaurant. He should not be working in a customer service role when he clearly has no idea what customer service means. I hope that this serves as a warning. I cannot speak for the quality of the food we didn't get to try it - but the waiting staff need training and Christian should look for a more suitable job. He is a disgrace to the profession and should be as far away from customers...

Food was shocking and so overpriced. Don't eat here unless you like being robbed.

Starter Had lobster as a starter, the lobster was tiny and hardly had any meat, it was also overcooked and chewy. Just came with a slice of bread and sauce. Awful.

Main Course The main course was the biggest joke. Ordered lamb chops with potatoes and carrots. The carrots were the smallest baby carrots I've ever seen and I only got 3 of them. They weren't cooked either. To advertise it as potatoes as well was a joke, there was about 1/2 a potato made into a little ball of mash. Then the lamb chops..... they weren't lamb loin chops, they were lamb rib bones and from the size of the meat, the lamb must have been a newborn about 1 week old. All in all it was about 2 bites of meat on 3 ribs. The ribs were also not cooked, never ever have I ordered lamb and had it with blood all over the plate. Gross.

Dessert The dessert was nice but about 5times the cost of what it should be. About £14 for 3 spoons full of chocolate mousse.

Even got charged for tap water. A 3 course meal for two cost around £125!! I think it must have cost the chef £20 to source all the ingredients for this meal, then he couldn't be bothered to cook it properly. When we left we had to go and buy a hotdog and a pastry because we were still hungry.

Absolute rip off and awful quality food. Disgusting prices for pathetic meals. Should've asked for a refund to be honest.

The only thing nice about this experience was the location of the outside seating and the waitress...

The restaurant is good, but there are disadvantages❗️ I was in the restaurant this Saturday. It was very tasty tartare with truffles and oysters. Onion soup, not tasty, just onion and water with bread. There is no such cheese crust as it is accepted in Paris. The meat was brought to us very undercooked, then they changed it to a new steak, but it was raw. 🤦‍♂️ I was also very upset by the fact that they gave me water 2 times. I will explain, I asked for water, they brought a decanter of tap water. The waiter took longer, just took and removed the carafe of water, where there was still a lot of water. And he brought a new decanter, although I did not ask. That is, they gave us water 2 times, and took 140 crowns for it. Why? I didn't ask them to take my water and bring me new water. Why this focus? Whatever in the end, the client did not pay attention and overpay 😡❗️ This moment made me very upset. Even though I'm not thirsty. I gave the waitress 250 crowns for a tip. But when I saw this trick with water at home, I was very disappointed. I strongly advise not to deceive customers. It ruins...
