when miguel invites you in, just go in. this meal was by far the best i’ve had throughout my 2 weeks here in peru. every meal was so good and the service was amazing (thank you, Camelo). i had the lamb with seco sauce: the lamb was fall off the bone, the risotto was buttery and cheesy, the sauce was the perfect balance to tie the dish together. my friends had the lomo saltado: the beef was tender and cooked perfectly with the onions and tomatoes, the fries were crispy, the rice was perfectly seasoned. additionally the lomo and risotto was amazing: the beef was cooked to the perfect medium rare, the risotto was cheesy and buttery, the sauce was perfectly balance. the chocolate nougat was rich but the apple ice cream balanced out the richness of the chocolate. the sodas were divine. the frutas rojos, goldenberry, mint+lime, and cranberry sodas were...
Read moreWe walked in and the restaurant looked semi-busy but the hostess moved us into an empty table. Over the course of roughly 15 minutes we were not approached by any servers with a menu, we had to ask the table next to us to use theirs, did not even receive water, and were promptly ignored at least four times after intentionally trying to flag someone down. After we got up to leave no one attempted to stop us. Frankly we felt offended by our experience (and we have been raving about the culinary scene in Cusco and have had wonderfully attentive experiences and meals). Maybe front of house was having a rough day but this was exceptionally bad and rude service. If you step in and feel like it’s going even remotely similar to what we’ve shared - leave immediately. The food was excellent. We got the "Trout of the Sun" and the Ossobuco. Both were very very good. The fish was cooked perfectly and served with a potato pancake topped with cheese. The Ossobuco had such tender meat that it almost melted in the mouth. The portion size of that dish is also huge - comes with a good amount of spaghetti.
Good server too, but I feel like that is common across the nicer restaurants in Cusco. Could have been a little more attentive, especially with refilling our water. But generally good.
Recommend checking it out. Place doesn't seem to get super...
