The food is good, my main complaint today is the fact that no chocolate syrup was put on my mocha frappe.
IF/when I decide to spend a ridiculous amount of money on an iced mocha beverage, in a large size as well, I would hope they could take the couple seconds to put the chocolate syrup on it that it comes with, when putting the whipped cream on. Or at the very least, an explanation as to why there is no chocolate syrup.
Previous visit(s) complaints:
The atmosphere inside is never comfortable to say the least its normally dark inside especially in the mornings. 95% of the negative opinions I have about this Mcdonalds, comes from the woman security guard that usually works in the mornings.
I've thought about working here and immediately decided it was a bad idea due to this woman.
I do not wish to talk ill of her, she does her job well, but she also takes things a step way too far. Mind you, the area this mcdonalds is in is a bit dodgy, one cross street is colfax and the other is literally littered with trash and people who have no problem walking up to your car and asking if you want to buy drugs, so I understand the level of security that might be needed to uphold standards here.
That being said, i gave it a few visits to actually make my opinion on the woman security guard to give the benefit of the doubt before posting to let the world know.
First, she is very negative from my perspective, she doesnt make any effort to be friendly, even to the customers. She way she talks to people, is demands, not polite requests.
I've seen a woman park in the curbside spot, walk inside to where i was currently at, and the security guard immediately told her she cannot park there, and the woman let her know that her order was originally curbside but it wasnt working on the app so she came inside. And she scolded her, and said that she needed to move immediately because it was impeding their work area. Even though there were other curbside spots open and she was still trying to place an order and be a paying customer. The customer even responded by asking why she was so angry with her for parking there for a few minutes.
A simple solution would have been to politely ask her to move the car as soon as possible. Not to scold the customer or demand her to do things.
Another instance, a man was parked next to me, it seemed to me he was scrolling on the app getting his order together, when the security guard walked up to his car and told him to leave immediately because he had not walked inside yet. She didn't even ask him why he was there or anything. The man left and she followed his car and made sure he left.
Shes also stared out the windows to the parking lot to the point ive felt very uncomfortable before.
These are just a few things. By all means, she does a good job at her job, but needs to treat customers with more respect.
I hope if she sees what i have to say she can take it as constructive criticism. Because if she could learn to have more respect towards people i would come inside more often, and feel comfortable enough to even apply for a job at this location. Even my roommates and neighbors all agree about the atmosphere because of this woman.
Thanks...
Read moreI'm giving 4 stars not because of the food but because of managerial customer service. The owner of this East Colfax location is the owner of the 16th Street mall location, which is the location I had a complaint against (no fault of the staff by the way; which was that, the McDonald's App and Google both had the closing time listed at 11:45pm for this 16th Street location, but it is actually 11:00pm.)
While I rarely eat that late, I do have a bit of a Red Box habit and decided to rent a couple of movies. Arriving at 11:15pm, I thought I had plenty of time to get in and out, but found the doors already locked with staff still inside doing busy work and diligently ignoring my knocking on the glass, which at the time I viewed as not only rude, but very unprofessional. I of course checked my phone app again to make sure I had the correct location...I've been known to go brain dead on occasion...and was very relieved to be in the right location but pissed I had the correct time, and it was well before 11:45pm.
So I complained about their staff closing the restaurant early and not adhering to "Posted" business hours, and on how very disappointed I was with my experience, blah blah blah. Needless to say that the owner of the 16th St "complaint" location and this location, of which I have no complaints, had the manager of the East Colfax location, this location, call me to apologize and assure me that though the lobby closes regularly at 11:00pm, but the drive thru was open until midnight...at which point I asked "What drive thru? The 16th Street location doesn't have a drive thru."
Yep!
Now that the E Colfax manager and I are on the same page, though it be the wrong page, he kindly explained he had no authority over the 16th St. location but did confirm, as a former 16th St. manager, that location closed at 11:00pm, and he would happy to pass that information on to the owner, of the discrepancies in the online posted hours...
Read moreAs someone who has spent a considerable number of mornings on the road, McDonald's has been a breakfast staple. I have eaten in dozens of McDonald's in different cities and states, and this is, by far, the worst of them.
As others have mentioned, the wait time is always extraordinarily long for seemingly no reason at all. I stopped in for a coffee and two piece chicken tenders this afternoon, well after the lunch rush, and it took close to 10 minutes. The couple in front of me mentioned they waited 7 minutes for two sodas.
More often than not, my order has been incorrect. I ordered a large coffee this afternoon with 3 cream. It came with what had to have been at least 10 cream -- it was literally lighter than most lattes, was lukewarm, and tasted like nothing but creamer. Somewhat strange since they use a machine that dispenses standard creamer servings at the push of a button. Several other customers this afternoon complained about their orders coming out incorrectly as well.
On a particularly confusing visit, I ordered an Egg McMuffin and asked for cheddar cheese instead of American. I ended up receiving a strange Frankenstein sandwich, containing a piece of sausage and Canadian bacon. No egg. No cheese. Where'd the sausage come from? They were happy enough to fix it, but of course it came out wrong a second time, having both American and cheddar cheese. Close enough for me, so I ate it.
The tables and seats are usually in need of attention.
While nice enough, the staff seems generally uninterested in customer service.
It's not unusal to see homeless folks bumming money along this stretch of Colfax. It is quite unusual, however, for businesses to allow them to camp out by their main entrances with all of their stuff. This McDonald's seems to allow it, though.
All in all, this place needs a...
