Bad experience here... First the food. The $8 single-patty melt burger was decent. Definitely better than the likes of McDonald's and Burger King. However, it's nowhere close to In n Out, Shake Shack, and other high-tier fast food chains. Cheddar bacon ranch fries were ok.... For over $4, the portion was way way too small and they were about 20% too salty. However, the flavor was pretty good. The food was worthy of 3 stars. However, I'm giving my experience as a customer there a 1 star (thus averaging out to 2 stars). The "combo" option at this place is an utter scam. At literally every other restaurant I've ever been to, a combo means that a side (usually fries) and a drink will be added for a slightly discounted price compared to buying everything individually. When I was asked if I wanted a combo, I said yes. The person taking my order asked which fries I want, and I asked if I could choose any fry. She said yes, making it seem that I had the option of choosing any fry because it was included in the combo. Same with the drink. She told me to any drink and pointed to a line of canned drinks. After she rung me up, I see the burger, fries, and soda all listed out separately with the last item saying "combo discount" which took off 35 cents from my order. I ended up paying over $16 for a subpar burger, under portioned fries, and a canned sparkling water. At all points in this interaction, she made it seem like both the fries and drink were included in the combo (like any other restaurant) and that I had the option of choosing (never mentioning that I would simply be.. Charged for it). This is what I call a scam and a dirty business tactic. EVERYONE READING THIS... "combo" legit means they'll add each item separately and take off 35 cents at the end-- a practice I have never seen in the 100s of restaurants I've been...

For their next trick, burgers, shakes and a more expanded menu. If you didn't know, it's a soft opening for their Grand Re-Opening. That's when I was here. As long as you are in line, you get an entree, a side and a drink of your choice. I do know that if you hop back in line again, you get an entree, a side and a drink of your choice. It has been done and that's how you maximize the menu to try as many things as you can. There wasn't a limit on this particular Wednesday evening before their grand re-opening on a Friday night.

I didn't get back in line as I knew about this almost at the last minute but when you get off of work as late as I do, your friends have already been through the line at least once. So you do get the benefits of trying other items ordered. I tried the BBQ Bacon burger as I ordered the 'Shroom burger. Truffle fries and the mac 'n cheese was pretty good. If you have not been here, you should come check out the really neat looking pull tap when you get a drink. Cane soda by Boylan Soda. I've never heard of it but apparently Gary G. is raving about it. He's gotten too excited that refills are required. The Cane Cola was good but I prefer the Cane Root Beer instead. A little something different in the taste that I would pick that over the regular cola.

I did come back down here to try another burger on my own. I love bacon and I love BBQ. The BBQ sauce to me tasted sort of weird but the bacon. Oh damn, that bacon is all you see inside the bag and even when you place it on a plate to take a picture. First five bytes are all about the bacon before you pick up the burger. It's like working your way through a forest of bacon but it's two giant strips of bacon. Have I talked enough about the bacon yet? For $6.95 plus a drink, yes I got the root beer again. Lunch on this particular day...

I can understand late food. I can understand mistaken orders. But lying is not ok. And that's what they did to me here.

I made a pick-up order through Door Dash today at 11:44am. Estimated pick-up time was 7-17 minutes. I kept checking status on door dash, but this place simply never updated door dash. It kept showing as if they had never even started the order. I finally just showed up fifteen minutes after the order was scheduled to be ready, thinking that should be PLENTY of extra time.

I get there, wait in line, and the counter guy starts complaining that my order has been ready for "SUCH A LONG TIME. LIKE, TWENTY MINUTES"

first of all, why are we mad that I took so much time to pick up? You got paid already. And I came late because they didn't update their order.

second of all, I took a long time because I relied on Door Dash's app. Which every other business I have EVER, EVER ordered from updates. It is expected. It is standard. I understand if mistakes were made. That happens and we are all human. But the counter guy lied to me. Says he has "no control" and cannot update our orders. It's possible to do. I've seen it done at other places. He's lying. And he's not even doing a good job at it.

He wasn't wearing a name tag. In fact, nobody was. I know, because I don't appreciate being lied to so I did look. But nobody wore any nametags.

It has now been OVER AN HOUR since I made my order, and they STILL haven't updated their Doordash system.

also, they forgot my pickle.

I am never coming back here. Like I said. I can understand mistakes. But that was just a bald faced lie. My food ended up cold because they didn't update the order. And you forgot my pickle....

Amazing!! This is one of the only places that has gluten free buns that aren't trash *and* has impossible or beyond burgers. They have a lot of options to build a burger that you like, along with a nice selection of their own creative pairings, and the burgers are consistently cooked perfectly. They're also very quick on delivery service apps, which is a huge plus. The milkshakes are also delicious One negative is their fry servings are a bit small and are pretty expensive, especially for what you get. I think the melt spice is overwhelming (on their regular fries), but their sweet potato fries are bomb and have a little kick to them that doesn't take away from the flavor of the potato itself. The burgers are also slightly pricey but not bad considering the quality. Definitely try The Melt if you're in the area or, even better, in their delivery range.

Located in a tower mall, The Melt is a place to try when you are in the Downtown LA area. My partner in crime was aching for a grilled cheese. The Three Cheese Classic hit the spot. The bread was perfectly grilled and the three cheeses oozed as you pulled it apart. A side of garlic Parmesan fries and mini Mac completed his order. The mini Mac was good, but the Melt Mac with bread crumbs was excellent. A creamy tomato soup was a perfect dip to the grilled cheese. I sampled the BBQ Bacone Meltburger and it was delicious. The smoked thick bacon was not skimped on. My guess tried the original Meltburger and she loved it. They include pickles, half of a dill pickle that she enjoyed very much. We will be back.
