The Macy's at The Bloc in DTLA is closing and has put all items on sale. However, they haven't really hit the deep discounts yet and most items are 20% off. Basically, the prices are only discounted slightly more than a regular sale. The signs state up to 50% off, but after going through nearly every department, the highest was 30% on just a couple of goods. 90% of the merchandise is marked at a discount of 20% off. I don't think this will inspire people to spend. If they go lower, perhaps things will begin to vanish. As of now, it looks like a regular day. The only other place that I go to on a regular basis at The Bloc is the USPS. I will hold my tongue on this particular establishment. But there are other post offices nearby that should be able to help anyone out. I won't be surprised if this particular post office closes. They seem to set their own hours and close whenever they don't have 'staff'. Mmmmkay. Sure. Ooops, holding my tongue. I nearly forgot. The gym is okay and the location is the best part of it. The mens locker room is not something that you want to get stuck in your nostrils. Avoid. The drug use around The Bloc is annoying. As is the urine marking the sidewalk on Flower between 7th and 8th. If you park inside, you won't experience it unless you exit at street level to walk around the area. The Mayor of L.A. should be aware of the situation because I KNOW my tweets have made it to her as others have commented. So, IF she is ignoring me, she is also ignoring the problem. It IS a problem. The Olympics are coming up and with Crypto arena in DTLA, the financial district, new highrise apartments, I had hoped that she would not wait until a week before the Olympics start to address the situation, but clearly that seems to be the direction. Target on Figueroa just had a shootout with 2 security guards getting shot a few weeks ago. Thankfully they are fine and they caught the suspect the next day, but it isn't surprising at all. I know trying to live and walk this area is not necessarily the safest place and forget nightime. For me, I am okay but prefer to know that the police are close (Still waiting to see some), but for my girlfriend? No way. I don't like her walking to the store in the daytime now. Naked homeless, crack smoking and people screaming at you are a daily thing and this is weekdays and business time. I love thos city but the mayor is neglecting it and safety isn't a concern apparently. Clean...
Read moreI enjoy shopping at this location. It is convenient located downtown Los Angeles. Also, when shopping at this store I find exactly what I need. Normally people are friendly and go above and beyond to ensure you have a plessent experience.
Tonight I had a different experience. I went into the store with friends ( who made a purchase) around 8 pm tonight. My reason for stop by was to purchase a pair of shoes. I did not know the store closed early.
Once I found the pair of shoes i had to stop shopping for a moment to visit the ladies room. Once I came out I notice the elevators were not working. So me and a group of other shoppers trying to figure out how to what was wtong with the elevator and how to exit the store. Unfortunately there was not a sales associate in sight.
Finally, we found an agent asked "why is the elevator not working" she replyed as she heurtley ran from one side if the store to another, " elevators are not working wear close". Next, I ask how to exit... She replied the escalator and disappear immediately.
Myself and the other Shoppers were confused on where to go. Nevertheless we stumbled across the escalator made our way downstairs and again we were puzzled on where to go. I took the initiative again to ask older African-American lady how do we exit the store. She was kind enoungh to answer out questions.
In addition to the lady assisting there was a African American gentleman at the door who gave us even clear directions. I'm sorry I don't know their name or wish I did so I can give them kudos for assisting us.
Also it would have been nice if we would have had a warning over the PA system letting us know that we only had a few minutes before the store closed
If I did not have this experience I would have given this store a...
Read moreMacy's need I say more. It's a preference of having a healthy choice for my life. This is upscale.
Think healthy and new. NOT rummaged through clothes, food, bedding, bathing and other house hold items. I don't like the if I want to wash my hands before I rummage through the meat section and then through the underwear and wonder over to the sheet section before getting my hands on sleeping camping gear and back to pick up some ringworm medicine for my kitty. Just kidding its for me My now x part time love has a cat. I choose to shop separately for my items. Please go to Walmart and handle all your contagious shopping. Before you go to the disease free Upscale shopping plaza places.
So don't go to upscale if you don't want upscale. I like upscale which isnt just availability of items for public to rummage through, like a grocery store that has products I am going to eat not wear. We eat things everyone before us in the store possibly has touched Go figure..... Upscale..... An associate of the business is there for a reason. They show you an item you select so it's new and clean, smells that way. My clothes don't smell like yesterdays rotisserie chicken and have potential for food born pathogens to Lingure on my new clothes purchase. We need to complain and have the business reorganize there sales to smaller portions and more help with selection of an item. Who wants pet supplies where they buy there under drawers, socks, bras or food. Let's put our new born on our shoulder with that brand new baby blanket we just just bought and my x cat lover just put down she was going to get for the kitty. Say what.... No no...
