(Short Version: Absolute TOURIST TRAP.). We went there as a group of 8. Every one of us can tell you a story of his horrible experience. The waiters were rude and seem to lack all skills in their profession. From the beginning on we had problems communicating, can’t force anyone to learn English, would’ve been nice tho. While ordering I told the waitress that I don’t want fennel in my salad. So I just didn’t get any. My 500 crowns steak was cold and not seasoned well. My friend had hair in his salad and so on and so forth. Did I mention that those meals didn’t saturate us at all and I had a steak with roasted potatoes. The by far BIGGEST issue was the payment. First we were ordered to go to the bar to pay. There they tried scamming us in every possible way. They tried to get one of us to pay the whole table without telling him (he told them what he wanted to pay). Then they didn’t even really ask whether we want to tip which is rude, tipping is fine but just ask. Furthermore I had to pay for table service which wasn’t listed on the menu, that’s just scam and illegal. So in the end I paid 800 crowns instead of 643 which would’ve been the normal price. The problem is, that I couldn’t even argue with them because their English is just so poor that I could’ve talked to a brick wall as well. In the end they scammed each of us by not telling us what they let us pay for and talking Czech while paying. Some of us didn’t receive their receipt either, which again is illegal. All in all a horrible experience that I wouldn’t wish on anybody else to have. Just a flop and ruining my whole evening. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO...

We went to this place during our second day in Praque. We had some trouble with tipping since the bill was completely in Czech. In Praque, you're are generally expected to give 10% tip. However, some places include the tip automatically to the bill. Places that don't do this, usually have big "TIP NOT INCLUDED" marked in the bill in english. Our bill had some extra fee marked for both of us and we assumed this was the tip. As it turned out, it was the small bag of "complementary" bread they brought to us without asking. Bag included two small pieces of dry bread and few smaller pieces of some kind of snacks. So, when we paid the bill without adding the 10% tip, the waitress got angry at us. After we asked him to explain the bill to us, we of course apologized and paid the tip separately. However, the whole situation was really awkward. Simply informing us politely about the expected tip would have done the trick. So... shame on us being ignorant tourists and not understanding bill written in Czech, but shame on them handling the situation really poorly.
The food itself was mediocre. Not bad, took away the hunger, but not really what I expect when I go to restaurants. The bread bag they bring while you wait your food, seemed to be just a way to charge some extra. Few pieces that were in the bag, were small and dry. Ice tea was also watery and didn't really have any taste.
Wouldn't recommend. Going randomly to any other place, will probably get you better food...
Read moreI had lunch at this place many times when they had the “daily menu” during week days since it was reasonably priced and I can say that unfortunately this is the worst Coloseum branch.
First of all, the staff is mostly rude. I always come here with my girlfriend and they always try to sit us somewhere where we do not want to be seated. Even though the restaurant is empty/has little people they still try to sit us in a place where we don’t want to be and when we say we don’t want to sit there they insist and it’s always pretty awkward.
The food is alright but the pizza is sometimes too oily and frankly is worse compared to other branches. I’m not sure why that is. The butter they serve with the bread basket is always cold, almost frozen and it’s basically impossible to eat. When the butter finally melts after a considerably long amount of time, it gets watery and not appetizing.
I have seen a lot of comments of foreigners saying that they got ripped off and they had some service fee included which made me even dislike this place more because service fee can’t be included unless it’s mentioned in the menu. Once they have tried to rip me off as well, I ordered from the “daily lunch menu” which is till 3pm on week days and it should be cheaper. They tried to charge me the full price instead of the discounted price. When I pointed it out, they just said it was a mistake, quite a convenient mistake.
In conclusion, I think this branch is merely a tourist trap and not a good place. I personally had enough of here and will not be...
