The Atlantic, BW Signature Collection — Hotel in Ocean City

This motel is not ready for service. Furniture in the rooms is all new, and the paint is fresh, but the construction debris still lingers. We arrived after the check-in time, and the curtains were still not hung in the room, and the door did not fit properly in the frame to lock. We waited to bring our luggage up until these things got sorted out. Then we found we were missing towels and toilet paper. The carpets are new but needed to be vacuumed, and there is no housekeeping support after 5 pm. There is only 1 functioning light in the room. Bedside lamps half work and flicker when the air conditioning comes on. One plus, the mattress is new and firm.

The location is great - 1 block from the beach, and the front desk staff are friendly, although they seem inexperienced. Is this part of Best Western? Why am I paying full price for a soft opening? They were not ready to launch, and guests should have been alerted...

Upon arrival the door said Closed. We called the emergency number and were told a code to open the room door. The door would not open and I called and was told to use some force to open it and it takes 3 hard tries. Tv had no volume and not staff to help. Next day a man was sent to look at issues. Never felt safe with no staff on grounds. No coffee pot. Noise coming from heat unit. Called Best Western Customer service and was given ticket number as the price I was charged is more then the price listed for Sunday night. Already home and called again asking for some points or price adjustment due to all the issues. Choice Priviledge takes care of this right away. Worse experience in over 30 years of traveling multiple times a year. My friend said she is leaving a review and will never return to this hotel. This is a glorified motel. Which we knew but we picked this assuming there was higher end items since the cost is more.

A few misrepresentations and issues:

pool is def not heated. Cold as ice carpet in room is sticky. Clearly old and hasn’t been deep cleaned front desk is cranky and unhelpful. Probably makes the star rating go down by at least 1 star altogether. -rooms are not sound proof so you hear all the noise outside and it’s hard to wind down for sleep. -the lights outside stay on at night which beams into the hotel room which makes it hard to sleep. -beds and pillows are super uncomfortable

Pros: -close to boardwalk -nice water...
