Great update!!! After checking their security footage, Brighton Street Liquor confirmed that the clerk accidentally sold me a previously used ticket. They reached out right away, apologized for the mistake, and gave me the $20 I thought I had won. I really appreciate their honesty and the effort they took to make things right. Not a lot of businesses would do this especially in an area of the city filled with mostly tourists.
Scam alert!!!!! Bought a $5 scratch-off at Brighton Street Liquor last night, tossed it straight in my purse, and didn’t even look at it until I got home. Went to scratch it off and—surprise!—the bottom was already scratched. Weird, right?
So I scratch the rest and boom, I’ve won $20! 🎉 Headed back today all excited to cash it in, only to be told someone already claimed it. Seriously?! I explained that their clerk sold me a ticket that was already scratched, and asked for my $5 back. They refused.
Apparently, the only thing being scratched off there is customers. Check your tickets before you leave—or better yet, spend your $5 somewhere that doesn’t play games before...
Read moreWalked inside and saw a wide variety of bourbon. After selecting two bottles, I made my way to the counter where there was a younger gentleman working. Spoke with him about the wall of extremely allocated bourbon on the back wall. He stated that that was a private collection. I've seen this in stores before. Ask him if he had any bottles of a specific allocated bourbon, and he stated we don't sell them! When I asked him what he meant, he said the moment they get any allocated bottles, they keep them for themselves. I asked him if they have a lottery system, and he said no. We just keep them.
As someone in the bourbon community, that is absolutely disgusting!
This store has extremely high foot traffic as it is on the main road and in a very touristy area.
Which means they probably get a lot of allocations. On the other side of that, they have other stores in the area as well.
But the guy behind the counter who was working had no remorse or guilt for saying that they just kept all the bottles of allocations.
I am truly appalled that I spent any money...
Read moreStopped in to pick out a gift for someone back home. While browsing the selection, we started to be rushed by the employee on the second floor. He took a phone call and loudly said, “I’m still up here with customers. They’re taking forever and don’t know what they want.” He very clearly wanted to rush us out so we decided to leave since he got pushy. He followed us all the way down the stairs and to the front door. Before we got all the way out the door, he was yelling to the other employee at the front counter. He was yelling at him saying not to let people up to the second floor unless they were going to buy something because we had come up and were just waiting time and didn’t buy anything. We heard that and replied saying we were going to buy something but he lost a customer. He responded by saying I don’t care, go somewhere else and don’t come back here again. The entire incident was completely unnecessary and...
