Read moreThis is literally the best bead store I have ever been inside. It has such a tremendous selection of beads, minerals/rocks, and other odds and ends for making unique and incredible jewelry. They also have some pre-made pieces on display from local artisans. When I went, they were 10% off and so I helped myself to a beautiful pair of amber earrings and an amber ring. I love that the jewelry was made local, even by some of the staff who work in the store!!! This is also the only place I've ever seen with an ancient history bead cabinet; I'm talking mammoth tusk buttons, Roman glass beads.
Speaking of the staff, they were extremely helpful and sweet. One fellow in particular walked me around the cabinets answering questions, I wish I could remember his name. He was really kind and understanding about my metals allergy and which jewelry would and would not make my ears react. Thank you, gentleman with no hair. You're a really nice person.
They also offer classes which teach you how to make beautiful jewelry for yourself. The next time I'm up visiting family in MN I intend to treat my sister and I to one of their jewelry-making classes. I really like this place, it's a gem inside MOA and worth a stop and shop! The prices are...
Read moreI absolutely love the items but as I read the past reviews about racial profiling, it rang true to my experience today. I was told to get a basket and as I was looking around and trying on bracelets and rings, employees would stare at me and whisper to each other. They followed me around and pretended that they were organizing but I had a sense I was being stared at. When I looked up, my intuition was right. I'm a physician assistant, I can pay for my items with no problem. I've never even stolen in my life!! The items that I had labeled in the basket were returned with no purchase. I left feeling angry and embarrassed knowing that people would even think that I was thinking about stealing based on my looks! And if you are wondering what I wore, it was a plain tshirt and jeans, was that enough to make me look suspicious or was it my skin color!? I will never give my money to a company that employs people with...
