Grit General — Local services in Jackson

I cannot speak highly enough of Grit General, especially one of the owners Kate. An unfortunate situation happened to me when I purchased a beautiful grail piece made by Freenote Cloth. I actually purchased it from another retailer. When it was delivered it had water damage, the box was wet and there was a water stain on the piece, this crushed me. There were only 13 piece made. I quickly called the store where I purchased who stated this piece was sold out in my size, even Freenote themselves did not have any left. I quickly found out that Grit General was one of the only other stores that were able to carry this piece. I called and spoke with Kate and explained what happened. She was so kind, helpful and accommodating. She did in fact have one left in my size left and would hold it until I was able to rectify the situation with a refund in the other store, which they ultimately did.

Kate, stayed in communication with me via text the throughout the entire easy process, keeping me informed and letting know not to worry, that she took care of it. This piece was so beautiful that her husband (the other owner) saved one for himself in my same size. Kate told me that if anyone came in and wanted to buy a Medium she would even send me the one her husband saved for himself! Thank goodness I did not crush his dream of having this piece also! We can both wear them proudly!

She shipped the piece out and when it arrived, I was so impressed with the care she took packing it, that even my wife said "this girl knows what's up, I want to be friends with her". Kate, also included a personal note which was greatly appreciated. From a customer service standpoint they exceed a 5 star rating. Although what initially happened was unfortunate, Kate took every measure to offer extreme customer care. From this experience alone I will now be a ongoing customer and highly recommend...

I could probably write an essay on how good this store is from some of the best curated Americana and workwear brands in the world to the beautiful space that is the store. I’ve travelled the world going to stores like this and it’s easily in my top 3 (and that pushes out a top three that has not changed for years. Kate and Audrey were amazing and we chatted for an hour, I’ve also spoke to Zeb on their Instagram and it’s been nothing but a pleasure with these guys. Buying into what is clearly a passion project is very easy when dealing with owners and staff like this.
