My experience with Corepower was confusing. I attended my first class at the studio and when I checked in I was told my first three classes were free. Great! I took class and it was good, not very hot, but still a good class. The next week I signed up for my second class. When I checked in at the front desk the same woman who told me the first three classes were free asked me how I wanted to pay for class. When I reminded her I was told last week I had three free classes so said no no I don't know who told you that (you did!). She let me know the real offer was your first two weeks free. In order to get the offer you had to put a card on file. If you didn't want to extend past two weeks you had to cancel within that time frame. Ok no problem, I gave her my card to keep on file so I could have the two weeks unlimited yoga. When I got home from class I find I was charged $109 for the two weeks - another lie from the front desk staff. I reached out to the customer service and it took over a week to get a response. They did refund the money. I looked into my account under "memberships" to be sure that I was not registered for a membership and nothing was listed. I checked several times to be sure and even asked customer service to ensure this. Exactly two weeks from my last visit I was charged another $218 for a membership. Only now did the membership appear under my account. Again I reached out to customer service but received no response.
I can't recommend Corepower to anyone simply because of the shadiness of their business practices. I was mislead multiple times by a member of their front desk team and have wait far too long to receive a response from their customer service. It's unfortunately because the classes were halfway decent. I recommend taking your money to a small non...
Read moreThis review is specifically for the Nomad location of CorePower - this is a franchise so many locations.
I’ve been to this location 5-8 times over the last few months, and was disappointed all but 1 time. I try to go to other locations, but if classes are full I’ll go here.
If you are new to yoga, you probably won’t mind this studio. If you are a few years into your yoga practice, you’ll likely have a hard time finding a fitting instructor here.
Instructors: (in my general experience at this location) not engaging, inexperienced, not natural leaders, classes are boring and not challenging.
Studio: terrible design and use of space. -heaters never feel as hot as thermometer reads -water fountain with pressure so low it takes a full minute to refill water bottle -rental mats not clean. They are usually still wet when you rent and the strong odor of vinegar/BO ruins the headspace any time your face is on the mat -locker rooms so small there is no where to change, constant awkward traffic jam of people stepping out of shower directly next to a bathroom stall. there is one bathroom stall that is about 4 feet too wide - unnecessary waste of space.
If this was a $20 per class studio I would lower my expectations. One class is now $38. I expect better from CorePower.
If you are a CorePower member and are looking for challenging and high-energy classes, I recommend the Williamsburg location (but almost every class sells out so book a...
Read moreThe class itself was a great workout, but I had to pay for my mat and I was given the dirtiest and stinkiest mat. I was gagging throughout class due to the stench, and considering that I paid for the use of the mat- I was incredibly disappointed. The facilities themselves were so gross- the bathroom was dirty and they had ONE deodorant stick for everyone to share; other places typically have sprays for sanitary purposes. How gross that they expect everyone to share one deodorant stick!
For the price of the class, the sanitary-ness of the class should be way better. Definitely won't be going to this location again. I couldn't really enjoy my workout due to the ick of the mat and filth of the location. I tried not to touch the actual mat by using a towel, but my thumbs occasionally touched the mat. My thumbs now are also itchy/in pain to the touch? I’m really hoping I don’t have some sort of infection from the gross and filthy mat. One could certainly get ringworm from unsanitary conditions like these…
Really disappointed - and so upset I had to PAY for a gross mat that smelled like stinky feet and vomit. I wish I didn’t spend my hard earned...
