Overall, extremely disappointing. Not just because of one thing, but several constant events. We will never go back (after giving it a second chance).
We bought tickets two weeks in advance. I let the girl on the phone know I had never been there. I asked if there was a "will call" window so I wouldn't have to wait in the line to buy tickets. We got there and there was no "will call," and we had to wait in an extremely long line. Then we found it was first come first serve seating. The only two left were in the back corner that we could not even comfortably walk to. My poor husband was so claustrophobic that we decided we would leave without seeing the show.
I called them to let them know of our experience. The lady I spoke to was extremely helpful and let us take a rain check for the show. We were very happy.
We came back, and were there right when they opened the doors. When we were the first to be seated, we tried to ask for a round table. They did not want us to sit there because of how they fill the audience (front first, then to back). I get it. Since the seats weren't far back they did let us sit there.... Then the manager came up and asked us to move to a different round table because they were doing a small show and not filling those seats. We were fine with that.
Later on they filled those seats and some. I didn't understand.
We then ordered food. My food came out, and the server said my husbands was on its way. 15 minutes later he got his food. Mine was cold. It was also not very good at all. Bland, and the chicken Parmesan sandwich had no marinara on it making it very dry.
I ordered a martini. Not only are the glasses very small for an $11 martini, but they filled it about 3/4 of the way. It looked like someone took a drink out of it. I asked for the server to fill it a bit more. She said, "I agree it's ridiculous, but the owner is in town and we have to pour them this way." She then said she would bring it back since I said something. She came back with a new one, with generally the same amount in it and said its the best she could do. The martini was sub par and not worth it.
Then I got the bill. My $11 martini (that I pointed to off the menu) somehow became a $12.07 martini w/ top shelf vodka.
The comedians were good. I laughed a bit, but honestly since the service was so bad, it made for an overall lame experience.
At this point we just wanted to pay the tab and leave. Mind you we were extremely polite about the martini being so small.
They had absolutely no regard for us as paying customers. We spent $100 that night alone on drinks and food.
If it were a couple things here and there, I get it, but there were so many disappointments we will never go back. Ever.
Definitely bring your business elsewhere. You...
Read moreIf I could give them 0 stars I would. The staff is Very Rude and they turn away business. I bought 4 tickets off Groupon for myself and 3 of my friends to attend a show on Sunday Oct 7, 2018 at the Mall of America, that was set to start at 7:00pm. We arrived at 6:00pm to insure we could get good seating. Only to be told when we got there that there would NOT be a show that night because they did not have 12 or more people to attend. We then asked if they were sure because it was an hour before the show was to start. The girl behind the desk insured us that there will NOT be a show due to a low amount of audience. Which we totally got.(Even through there is absolutely NO signs anywhere on Groupon or on the premises Stating there is a minimum that is required before a show can start) So then we asked for a refund because we were there from out of town (we live in Iowa) and we were not able to attend a different show at a different time. The girl behind the desk then said that they do not give refunds because they do not work with Groupon, and we would have to take it up with them. We then asked to speak to the manager, but she absolutely refused to come out and talk to us. So we decided to wait around until 7:00pm to see if anyone else would show up to watch the show. And in fact a few people did show up. Another couple who had also bought their tickets in advance showed up for the show. So that made 6 people waiting and wanting to see the show. Then around 6:40pm another couple stop to by tickets as well, but they were turned down at the door and they wouldn’t even sell tickets to them. Then at 6:46pm another 4 people also showed up to buy tickets for the show and they too were turned away and was refused tickets. When we saw this happening, we then went back up the the girl who was supposed to be selling tickets, and asked why she turned away all those people because they would have made the minimum of 12 for the show. She then said “well, I was wrong my manager said we needed 14 to have the show and we don’t have enough.” We again asked for a refund and they refused telling us we would have to take it up with Groupon. We were then told to leave because they were closing down for the night. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go see a show at Ricks Bronson’s House of Comedy at the Mall of America. The staff is not only very rude but also very unprofessional. They didnt even try to promote any kind of business, but yet they had absolutely NO problem turning away anyone who wanted to see a show.. Buyers Beware... This establishment has absolutely no issues taking your money and not giving you the services...
Read moreWe attended the K-VON 7:30 pm show on Fri. July 7th. The show was great, but we later discovered there were serious problems with the dinner charges. Our credit card was taken by the waitress when we first sat down and ordered our drinks. She explained that the card was to run a tab for the evening. A few minutes later she returned with someone else’s credit card. We let her know it was a mistake and handed that card back to her. She returned a few minutes later with our credit card. After the show when the lights came up, the waitress returned holding several dinner receipts in her hand looking stressed and confused. She eventually returned to our table with the correct receipt which we signed before leaving. We found her confusion disconcerting so my wife checked our bank statement that weekend which indicated there were two separate transactions for 1 cent each when there should have only been one transaction. On Monday we checked with our bank again and our card had been run through and charged twice on July 7th. Once for $148.92 and a second time for $139.96. Neither of the charges was correct. Our bill should have come to about $119.50. including the tip. We had one bottle of Storypoint Pinot Noir @ $38.50, plus one additional glass of wine @ $11.00 + 1 diet cola @$6.00 + 1 Loaded Fries @$10 + 1 Mandarin Salad @ $13.50 and 1 hamburger at $15.50 with about a $25 tip. We called their front office a total of 4 times to attempt to resolve the issue. We were told their general manager would locate our receipt and get back to us each time we called, but we never received a call back. It was just me and my wife that night. We never authorized the amounts charged. I eventually had to file a fraud dispute with Wells Fargo and get a new bank card issued. Mistakes happen, but the apathetic response and lack of follow-up from their management was horrible. It should not have been this difficult to resolve. We called four times over the last 4 weeks and no one from the business...
