The young-looking server with beard working Sunday shift is just a bad apple.
Management: I am not giving you lower rating because your food is good and other employees are extremely polite. He lacks professionalism and has zero awareness.
What happened: When we ordered our pastry and coffee, the barista sat us at the corner 2 top because 1) it was available along with a two other tables, not to mention the 4 top and another 3 top paying and about to leave 2) it was close to the end of the shift @2PM on Sunday.
When this server realized we were about to sit down, he just had to stop my wife and tell her “that section is table service only” then proceeded to passive aggressively say “are you gonna order more food?” or “you can sit in the side room (whatever you call it, it’s not as nice as the main dining floor).” Since we were sitting right next to the bar, I could easily overhear him complaining to the barista even after we were sat down. For the next thirty minutes, he would ignore any form of communication with us. I was going to ask for menu, but after my third attempt to make an eye contact, it was obvious he did not want to be hospitable to his two Asian guests.
Look, young guy, please leave the industry. I saw you asking to other people to help you expo and bus your tables while you are chit chatting with your friends. At least three tables were left piled with dirty dishes and coffee mugs. Stop being greedy and lazy, clean the tables if you need more tables. Initially I thought you just didn’t like Asian guests, but you are just incompetent. The barista also sat us while you were RIGHT NEXT TO HER. Listen to your guests and coworkers and stop tunnel-visioning.

Read moreCute little cafe with good vibe and foods. I went there with my friend and her kid for brunch and ordered a few things and we all enjoyed the food. The portion is good and the price is reasonable. Our egg benedict was tasty and the stuffed french toast was also good. Now, what I didn’t really like about the place is how tiny it is. With 2 adults and a baby, we were seated at a tulip table. We almost couldn’t put everything on the table. I think the restaurant should sacrifice some tables to put a bigger table. Most of the seat I see is probably suitable for one customer with only a few tables that can comfortably seat more. If you go there by yourself, this is great or if you go on a date, it is borderline ok. If you want to go with family or friends more than two people, I will think twice unless you are ok to wait for the only few bigger tables they have. Our server was ok, while being polite, I don’t think he did a great job. When we asked if we can be reseated in the bigger table, he just disappeared on us. I understand if other customers are waiting or something but at least he should let us know the reason and not just like “I’ll ask my manager” then gone till the food-serving time and made a comment like “it’s pretty tight here”…duh? That’s why we asked for another table. He also came and asked us to pay while the baby was still eating and I totally get it. Although, he grabbed a plate that there was still food in there (not a lot) without asking (technically he asked if he could removed my empty plate and I said yes, but that doesn’t apply to another plate with food in it). So, in summary, I like the food and the vibe. The space and service were ok and can be improved. Like I said earlier, come try for yourself or with one...
Read moreSmall bakery offering to-go breads, pastries, baked goods, and small bites/sandwiches. Coffee, espresso, and espresso drinks are also available, as well as various other bottled drinks. They also have a sit-down cafe with a full menu, although this review is only for takeout.
Stopped by on a Sunday, which was very busy for both takeout and sit down. There is a large selection of fresh baked breads that can be warmed on the spot before taking away. There was a selection of croissants, including chocolate, almond, and almond chocolate. They also sell macarons (standard flavors), eclairs, and fruit tarts.
I picked up a chocolate croissant (chocolate-almond was sold out by around noon) and it was one of the best croissants I've ever had. It was perfectly flakey, had a subtle butter flavor without any fake flavors, and the chocolate was a perfect ratio and of high quality.
The macarons (vanilla, pistachio, lemon, and raspberry) were perfectly done as well. The shells were crunchy yet chewy and the filling was a nice mix of buttercream and filling. They were not overly sweet and perfect sized. My favorite was the raspberry and lemon, vanilla in third, and pistachio last (not normally a pistachio person, so this wasn't against them!).
Also grabbed a fruit tart and it was delicious. The shell was crusty and buttery and the filling was not overly sweet. The fruit tasted fresh and wasn't coated in a glaze like most tarts. The shell had white chocolate on the inside, presumably to keep it from getting soggy, which was a bit tough to cut through with a fork. It didn't take away from the taste though and overall it was a delicious fruit tart.
I regret not getting an eclair, they looked awesome and definitely would grab...
