Amazing close to downtown Glenwood Springs place for a half a day hike or walk for a spiritual/therapeutic journey to the Peak/Cross tha can be done whatever you are alone or with family and friends. Durng this time of the year, it still snowing in Glenwood so, with a calm but consistent pace it took me 2.30hrs to reach the peak/cross at the peak point with five small breaks for taking pictures and brief lunch break. In this period there is still snow on both sides of the path and the road. Highly suggested: hiking boots or trainers. I found a branch to use it as a staff. If you are more equipped with sticks for hiking, they will work perfectly especially when going down (2.00hrs), when tiredness and mud can cause you slip. Water and fruit, fruit juices, sandwiches will be perfect for the trail. Trash can at the beginning of the trail. No bathrooms along the path. Signs may be confusing at the beginningof the path. The main road is the best route you may choose for any occasion. Other paths have ice and mud at this time, I would not...

Because of the ice and snow, I did a mix of the road and Cross trail. Didn’t see any wildlife and only saw two other people the entire time. Great workout and one day I’d like to try and hike it in the summer or fall when I can make better sense of...

The Grandstaff Trail is meant for mountain bikes but still works for walking. The Cross Trail was more directly up and down. Still beautiful views of...
