This has to be the weirdest and worst restaurant experience I have had. I never write reviews, but on this occasion I must. I went here with my wife and son.
Let's start with the positive, as there are so few positives: The waitress was a nice girl, probably doing her best and was kind. The restaurant looks alright, has a cozy atmosphere and I enjoyed sitting there until I ordered anything.
Now for the negatives. We ordered a Mojito, well it said mojito, but it was definitely not. I am a former bartender myself and all this was was warm lemon water with some mint leaves. Sure there might have been some rum in it, although I doubt it, but it had no soda, sweetness, nothing like a mojito. We ordered a cuba libre and it was the same situation. Warm, so little ice it melted right away, no garnish in the glass and just simple stuff like getting a straw seemed to be impossible. Even the beers were warm. Do you guys not have a refrigerator? The food was cold and just generally bad. I don't know how to describe it any better. I ordered tacos which were awful. My son did not like the nachos we ordered. Is it to much to ask that the food be served warm? The bathroom area is disgusting, spider web in the roof, etc.
To be fair there were warning signs and we probably should have just left when we got those awful drinks. The constant ding of a microwave finishing in the kitchen probably should have been a warning sign to.
It really baffles me how it is possible to run a restaurant so horribly bad. How do you do this? Are you aware that your restaurant is horrible and you just don't care, people still fall for it and come in every now and then or are you just not bright enough to realise that this is an awful...
Read moreMaybe this is good place for lunch but definitely not for dinner based on our experience. Did we eat all the food? Yes, because we were hungry. Why were we disappointed? To start off: they were "out of" guac and they didn't have any lettuce? We ordered an appetizer to share, 2 main courses, alcoholic beverages, and water. Order the items were brought out: water, first entree, 5 minute wait, second entree, appetizer, alcoholic beverages. Maybe this is a Czech Mexican restaurant thing. Maybe it was silly of me to expect standard restaurant experience and decent Mexican food in Prague. I did not take any photos and our food did not look like that of some of the ones posted. It did not taste fresh, for example anything tortilla chip tasted stale and there were no tomatoes. Have I mentioned no guac?! The upside is that the server was very friendly and spoke pretty good English. Why did we not say anything while there? Because of the insurmountable fear of the chef or server messing...
Read moreMy wife and I made a reservation for 19.30 on a Monday evening and arrived at 19.15. We waited a good ten minutes before the owner (and cook) came from out of the kitchen to seat us. There were a couple already sitting at a nearby table, yet to have their order taken too. Eventually, our food and drinks order was taken (after the lady had fulfilled a take away order collected by Bolt). At 20.10 our food and drinks finally arrived at our table. We were very hungry so ate the food we ordered quite quickly. It was authentic, tasty and plentiful. At 20.30 we were finally able to catch the owners attention to be able to pay the bill. Followed by another 10 minutes. To pay and leave. So, the above is a true review of our experience. The issue being the owner is snowed under with work and, she clearly needs help or she will end up exhausting herself. Recommended but be prepared to be...
