Over-priced, overrated, completely pretentious and superficial tourist trap.
I rarely truly hate cocktail bars, but I struggle to even call this one anyway. It's more of a cocktail-inspired theme park, with basic drinks, high prices, terrible ambience, and even worse staff. This is meant solely for tourists. 100% tourists.
Firstly, the no photos concept is clearly to avoid accountability and inspire some completely artificial sense of exclusivity. I asked our hostess why no photos, and she brusquely said, "It's just our policy." I asked why, and she more rudely repeated the same words again. If you can't give me a reason for the policy, I will not respect it. I understand it for the protection of intellectual property, or privacy reasons, especially if there is drug use, nudity, criminal activity, etc. This is A COCKTAIL BAR. If any of those things are happening here, your cocktail bar should be shut down. The manufactured "secret mystery" shtick is so laughable. At least come up with some sort of excuse for your staff to tell guests.
The interior is appealing in decor but appears to be a series of tunnels and small rooms, where they pack you in next to other guests, so close you're practically sharing a table. It's fine if you are sociable and like interacting with strangers, but if you're there for a nice, intimate drink with friends or a partner, you may feel awkward.
The drinks are nothing to write home about. The menu is excessive, with a lot of sweet and slight riffs on classics, and a lot of typical bar cocktails. For the price, they couldn't even provide good ice. The drinks simply are not worth the price or effort to get in. You can get the same quality at a number of cocktail bars in town, or any hotel bar. After all, this is essentially the glorified hotel bar of the hotel above it.
The servers are standoffish, rude, and indifferent. They don't really care if you're there or not, and never attempt to help or make it an inviting experience. Not a single member of staff wasn't miserable.
We had one drink and left. Just like all the tables around us, none of whom were impressed at all. And all of whom were taking photos, by the way.
NO MOBILE SERVICE. No wifi.
One and done. I wish we never even bothered to have the one. Avoid this ripoff bar and spend your money...
Read moreDidn’t even manage to go in because we felt so intimidated!! Me and my boyfriend decided after reading reviews we’d like to come here for a few drinks for the evening. We walked in and just followed the crowd, who were all going downstairs, we thought we’d follow as we assumed this was where you got your drinks and could sit. There were no signs for us to follow and no staff that we could see to ask hence why we followed the crowd. There was a man stood at the top of the stairs, it looked as though he was just waiting for someone as he wasn’t in any uniform just normal clothes. We went to head downstairs following a couple in front of us and my boyfriend was rudely interrupted by this man at the top of the stairs who literally threw his hand out onto my boyfriends chest and told him we couldn’t go down there. He didn’t give us a reason at first, we thought it was because we didn’t say how many the table was for, so we said table for 2 and he still kept his arm on my boyfriends chest and told us no. We asked why and what we had done wrong to which he shouted at us ‘No coats, put them in the cloakroom now’. Considering it’s Prague in November and is 4° and under in the evenings, we did not expect to have to take our coats off and that be a reason we weren’t allowed in. This guy was extremely rude, the way he spoke to us and how he stopped us from going down the stairs to the bar with no explanation at first! We literally felt like criminals. There were no signs stating that coats were not allowed in the bar and we also checked the bar rules on their website prior to coming here, again this did not state that coats were not allowed in the bar. We felt so intimidated by this guy that we just left and went elsewhere where we felt a lot more comfortable. Not sure if it was because we were English? Cannot go around speaking to customers like that, or you’ll loose them. Think this man needs a serious word had with his manager, disgusting behaviour if i’m honest. Will not be recommending this bar to any of my friends or family who are planning on coming to Prague in the near future. Very disappointed and upset. Extremely rude, glad we didn’t waste our money in this place. Avoid,...

Great place, popular thanks to its excellent location just a few meters from the Prague Astronomical Clock. It's not crowded at all, so we were able to come without a reservation on a Friday evening and find a place for a group of ten people! The audience was young-ish, mixed with locals and tourists.
The staff was friendly, welcoming and attentive, English speaking. Since it is a cocktail bar, the menu is inclusive of all possible types of alcohol and, of course, cocktails. And its presentation is quite interesting as the content of the cocktails were explained in a short story, which I personally did not mind, but I understand that it can be a bit complicated and confusing for some. The drinks were excellent, strong with alcohol content, super tasty, not overly sweet, obviously prepared from quality ingredients, however we did not notice that much alcohol in some of them.
What I didn't like were the glasses in which they were served - ceramic like glasses with Aztec motifs - which just didn't suit for a place like this - a bar with beautiful stone arches, darker yet intimate lighting, a gorgeous bar and central piano. Kinda old gentlemen style with a 30's vibe ! The atmosphere and jazz music was great, a pianist was playing through the evening and when he was not performing I appreciated the fact that the music wasn't that loud so we could hear each other and talk!
Once seated we were instructed not to take any pictures or videos (not sure why!?) and with the fact we cannot split the bill, which is especially impractical when you are with a large group! Prices are appropriate for the very well balanced cocktails with perfect flavors (between 200 CZK to 300 CZK) and definitely worth it!
Paid by card, visited in August 2022.
