I went into this restaurant with high expectations and left with a belly full of disappointment. I don’t recommend going here if you’re visiting Prague.
First off, the food quality. I ordered the pulled pork burger, and received the poorest excuse for a pulled pork burger I’ve ever had. Now presentation wise, it looks incredible! But the actual taste was pretty horrible. The meat didn’t taste at all barbaque-y, and was really sweet for some reason. But an already terrible taste was clashed with another: this horrible, relish-kind of sauce that was slathered on the bottom, which was somehow more abundant on the burger than the meat itself and completely overwhelmed the flavour.
Now that’s my burger, my other party members enjoyed theirs, but mentioned how it was not at all worth the price, and they’ve had far better for far less. I will get to price later.
Secondly, the fries. A burger cost €13, so it’s reasonable to expect it to come with fries, no? Wrong, you have to order the fries separately. And the real kicker was that the fries didn’t even come with sauce, you have to order that separately too for a separate price!! The fries themselves were very mid, pretty greasy but not in the good way; terribly seasoned and more air in them than actual potato.
Lastly, the price. As I mentioned before, a burger cost €13. No one in my party felt that their burger was in any way worth the ridiculously high price. Granted, we’re in the middle of Prague, but I expect the food quality to be a lot better. And the fact that you have to buy the fries and even the sauces separately scream that they’re after your money. The biggest sin is when the waiter asked us personally if we wanted to add tip. This is done solely as a manipulative tactic to essentially guilt- trip you into giving a tip. We saw the table beside us visibly shocked and a bit embarrassed when asked this, and seemed to force out a tip of 5%. I want to make it clear that we would’ve given a tip if they hadn’t asked us like that, but since they did, we didn’t tip. I understand it’s not the waiter’s fault, so I’m hoping the manager is reading this and understands how this is a horrible way to force a tip.
I would’ve preferred to go to McDonald’s.
TL;DR The food was not good and nowhere near worth the price charged. Don’t go here, keep walking down the road and you’ll find some far better...
Read morePoor experience- we went in for a late lunch and we’re seated immediately (which was a positive) however when it came to ordering food we were met with a very abrupt rude response to a request to remove the salad off of the cheese burger stating they are “too busy” and don’t have time to make “confusing changes” which from the fact we were seated quickly at supposed lunch time rush (and there were multiple empty tables) seemed abit unfair as they were infact not that busy..
Due to dietary requirements we cannot have certain items on the burger, if you are like us and have any intolerances/allergies or just simply may not like a sauce or item of salad on your burger then please DO NOT visit here as they will refuse you food service & make you feel extremely uncomfortable and awkward for asking to make even the smallest change to a meal you are paying for! The rude waitress then told me to remove the unwanted items myself when the burger comes (if I were to order)- for someone with dietary requirements this could be dangerous & lead to an allergic reaction!
The request made was not difficult or outlandish, in fact it would have actually been quicker to make our burgers as there would have been less items to put on it when building it together in the kitchen? (Unless they are pre-made although the restaurant does state everything is fresh??)
Disappointing experience overall, waitress was unpleasant and for the 20 minutes we sat there to drink our drinks (which we had ordered before asking about food) the staff came round over 15 times to take away empty plates 1 by 1 from surrounding tables and were hovering over the guests making for an unpleasant atmosphere, the table next to us were also asked for a tip by the staff, another thing that made me feel uncomfortable.
In total our two drinks, a Coke Zero & corona came to €9 which is by far the most we have paid for similar drinks in other restraints...
Read moreThis place has a quite strange arrangement with the chimney cake business. We visited here for a chimney cake to take a seat and rest. (And I thought it would belong to Meetburger since it's esthetically on the same interior design and under the name of "Meetburger" also, this chimney cake business doesn't have any own name for itself. If you check it on google maps, the place is not registered as a seperate business but on the same name.
But, anyway, the middle age lady was having a bad attitude while selling it (quite arrogant, unfriendly and looked at us as if disgusted - I should have canceled the order immediately when I saw it but I just proceeded with it anyway because we were tired...Big regret!) - also the cake was very dry and cold...
And we were sitting at the table area of Meetburger and a waiter (male, late 20's or early 30') told us that it's a seperate business, so we should leave unless we order drinks (with an unpleasant facial expressions and tones). All in all it was a very very unpleasant experience and I will delete the review if this chimney cake business is registered on Google seperately, otherwise I strongly belive that I should keep it here.
+) I've just found a review on the chimney cake in this place, and it confirms that the place belongs to Meetburger for sure. I'm even more furious from the waiter's reaction now that I know what he said was a lie! Please educate him...
