My partner and I visited on a rainy day, so I can't take the potential view into consideration. However, the food and service are absolutely not to expectations. 1. The drinks and food are heavily overpriced: 4.2 Euro for .2L Coca-cola or 32 Euro for a single lamb chop cut in two and some veggies. 2. When we sat at the table, one of our drink glasses had water left from the previous patron and the other still had lip prints. To his credit, our server apologized and replaced them immediately. 3. We ordered sodas, the bread appetizer, and two entrees all at once. Everything came very quickly, which normally wouldn't be a problem but we didn't get a chance to try and enjoy the stiff bread rolls and sticks they served. The speed of service also made us wary of the kitchen process, as both of our entrees should have taken longer if cooked to order. Another issue with the speed is that we had the table reserved for 90 minutes, and being served within 15 minutes leaves nothing for the rest of the time. Proper service for this experience would've been slower on purpose. 4. The risotto we ordered was absolutely inedible. According to the person I was with it was just green onion and nothing else was noticeable. We returned it to the kitchen as soon as possible. 5. With the bad weather view, the improper service, and inedible entree, we asked for a check for what we ate. The server got a manager who told us "The risotto is good, it's not to your taste and that's fine. But you're paying for everything else." Which I could understand if we ate anything more than half a roll of bread or a sample bite of the other entree. Overall a horrible experience. Thankfully we found a backup restaurant and made the night special again.

If a city has a tower or rotating restaurant, I am in for it! This one has a very different vibe from some of the others I've been in. It is visually stunning from the outside. The inside has an aesthetic somewhere between a club car in a train and the bridge of a spaceship. Food was yummy, a good price, and my server was really sweet. We had a misunderstanding early on (my German needs some work) but we had a good laugh about it. I got the goat cheese and the mushroom soup. Both were delicious. I really wanted the fish but I was really quite full because the portions were generous. The indoor observation deck was very crowded and it took a long time to get up and down. Make sure you use the restroom before getting in line! Try to get a window table at sunset so you can enjoy day and night view. There is a time limit on the reservation which I've never experienced before but I didn't feel rushed at all. I definitely recommend.

For the restaurant: They don’t know how to manage their tables. Put me and my five year old at a non window table, refused to move us as a lot of tables were simply empty. they claim their system decides everything. But the system doesn’t warn you you get a non view table. For a grown up a non window table is sad but okay, but for a kid utterly useless. Their online system says “all tables provide a good view”, which as far as a five year old is concerned is not true. The kid didn’t even really notice that there is an outside, and was pretty bored. That every expensive outing was a big disappointment. Meanwhile at the entry of the restaurant they said it was fully booked, and waiters said they are not allowed to move customers. But there were a lot of free tables. Seems like a very expensive lottery for 50% Chance of disappointment.

Three stars, mainly for the view from the restaurant. I have no clue where you find so boring staff. They have probably feelings, like hunger or pain, otherwise no sign of any interaction. But what can you do? They have the view, nothing else. Make a reservation, way in advance! We had this done by the concierge in our hotel. When we arrived, we went straight through, people with no reservation had 8 (eight) hours waiting time. They text you 30min in advance. All of the staff, except a young girl in the wardrobe, looked like remedies from DDR period. Unfriendly, grumpy, unhappy... Go there, but don't order food, the food is cooked on ground level and sent up by elevator, then reheated. We had cake, which was OK, no more. They know you can't go elsewhere for the view, and charge you accordingly...

Paranomic view of the city of Berlin, a must visit place. Book ticker online to get in is highly recommended.
