Heard of susiecakes when a friend celebrated her birthday in 2021. After I had a thin* slice ~ I was hooked and had to try it for my own!
I ordered ahead online a week in advance. Tip from todayās date- google and answering systems havenāt been updated for some reason so they claim open at ā12pmā even though they open earlier! So if you put an order, say 11:30am, it should be ready and fine!
Staff and manager are amazing. Realized GM Jon was from USC baked bear while it was open, they have great customer service skills and know the quality of their product and are easily happy and ready to make my (and their customersā) experience positive. They had the cake ready on time and took my phone call concerns in such a polite, patient manner.
As for cake itself, I got the confetti birthday celebration one with thatās extra charged for the buttercream they use. It was super sweet (so if you donāt like too* sweet, I would opt for a different one) but my family and friends loved it. They opted to do thin slices or share if they werenāt the biggest sweet tooths. Cake came out amazing, I provided pics (candles not from susie) to show relative size. With a party of 17 + seconds, still had leftovers for the larger sized cake!
Will definitely consider ordering again for important events given susieās price but the price feels justified given the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was excited about that place for months before they opened, and eagerly went in and ordered four cupcakes and a cookie. It was a terrible and disappointing experience. The cupcakes were dense and tasted like they forgot to add sugar and vanilla to the batter. I gave them another try today thinking it may have been a fluke since the reviews are so good. I got a slice of lemon cake this time. It was almost as bad as the cupcakes I got when they first opened. For $8 I expected it to be fresh and much better than what I could get at a grocery store or from a box cake, but it wasnāt. Once again the cake was dense and flavorless. The only lemon came from the curd between the layers. There was no lemon flavor in the cake, no flavor in the icing except for sugar, and on top of all of that, it was stale. Iām not sure what the five star reviews were eating, but what I had was overpriced and gross. Iād recommend a slice of lemon pound cake from seven eleven before Iād recommend anything from this place. Extremely disappointing, and I wonāt go back...

I sometimes need to cheer up and I found a bakery in downtown Los Angeles that does that for me SusieCakes has a variety of some of the most delicious cupcakes, cookies, and cakes that I can think of.
My favorite is called the Susieās nutty⦠Two soft peanut butter cookies and in between is a peanut butter buttercream frosting/filling that is so good that I would literally eat it by the gallon if I could get away with it
The next thing Iām going to try is the flourless cupcake and believe it is chocolate flavored and thatās going to be my next target but if you wanna get something safe, try the mocha or the peanut butter or the strawberry cupcakes. You canāt go wrong and of course, the red velvet is classic !!
Oh my God I have to tell you if I can eat 5000 she Netties I would!!
Two delicious soft peanut butter cookies, and the peanut butter creamy frosting in between?? Why is this even legal?
Wonderful selection, brightening atmosphere one thing they are cashless I loved it. Iām...
