This started it as a great experience but took a turn for the worst as one of my worst Chili's experiences ever.
At first our waiter was very in top of things, bringing drinks out very quick, and refills we're prompt, being refilled before drinks were even close to the bottom. Then... The food started to come out.
I made a very specific point to the waiter that I could not have the garlic butter on my steak for health reasons. The waiter was very understanding, and was proactive about asking what other things I couldn't have with my meal. This communication somehow didn't make it to the kitchen. When the steak came it was dripping with garlic butter and the server was gone before I could even let them know, and only 5 out of 7 of us had our meals.
Several minutes later I was able to flag down a server and they took my steak back and we informed them that we were also still missing some meals. They informed us they weren't quite done and they would be out in a few moments.
Our waiter at no fault of his own came over and apologized that the kitchen was very busy and they missed the noting on my steak order and that they were cooking one now.
Eventually our waiter himself personally served my steak to the table when we informed once again that we were missing 2 meals. He seemed unaware that we had STILL been missing 2 meals and promised he would have them out quickly.
As we waited on the 2 missing meals I cut into my steak (ordered medium rare) only to find the inside of the steak to have a cold red center. In their rush to correct my order my steak was served just under rare. The only part of this steak that was done was the outside, and I felt that I was biting into a raw piece of meat. At this point I was frustrated and rather than send the plate back once again, I boxed the steak up to finish cooking it at home.
The last 2 meals were served... However, the fajitas meal was missing the tortillas and the beans. It took 2 more trips to the table before these items were served (fajitas aren't enjoyed to the fullest without tortillas). The fajita meat was far from warm at this point.
In this time I had observed in our 2-2.5 hours sitting here in the restaurant that there were constantly 2-3 hostesses the entire time doing almost nothing up front. I don't bring this up to critique these hostesses but rather to draw the line of one of 2 things being true. They are either overly staffed up front, and under staffed in the kitchen; or their kitchen staff pays little attention to large detail. Either way there was a disconnect in this restaurant experience.
I'm not that hard to please but when you feel like you're constantly battling to get the meal you are paying for it's hard to walk away happy and satisfied. Ultimately they comped 2 of the meals, one of the drinks, and the chips and salsa. Its going to take some time before considering this Chili's for another family meal.
(Picture shows being overly served with our drinks. The one good part that came...
Read moreI will start with the good. We have been to this location twice on our road trip, both days we were in Twin Falls. The first night there we had Megan as our server. She was absolutely WONDERFUL! So wonderful we came back the next day and asked to sit with her. First of all, the hostess was duller than a door knob and just said “she’s not on” and then, almost irritatedly, seated us at a table for 4 when we had 5. We asked for a bigger table and she silently threw tables and chairs around and said absolutely nothing to us. We sat down and then our waitress came. She never told us her name. And she acted just straight up lazy. Instead of walking to the side of the table to drop off food to the person who ordered it she leaned almost ON to the table trying to avoid any extra effort. She ONLY came back to the table if she had something to bring us. I sat with an almost empty cup for my entire meal. Never got a refill. Then, we were talking about ordering dessert and she sat the computer thing on the table and asked if we needed a box to which i replied “i think we’re okay” and she says “ok thanks” and walks away, never to return. No “have a good night” no instructions on how to use the computer screen thing. Nothing. We ask to talk to the manager and all he says is “sorry about that. Just pay your bill and ask for me next time you’re in and i’ll give you a small discount”. So my husband says “we live 12 hours away, we’re just traveling through” and the manager just says “well sorry about that. Have a good night”.
Horrible. SO horrible we contemplate filing a BBB complaint. They need some serious training.
Megan is 10/10 an amazing waitress. The manager and the nameless waitress who was too lazy to take an extra 3 steps? 0. No. If i could give negative stars i would. We don’t have chilis where we live and this has given this company a HORRIBLE reputation with us as well as the businesses that we were here...
Read moreI'd been here before years ago and it was always a great place to go. This last experience though was one of the worst restaurant services I had.
The hostess and waitress were both new and didn't seem to know what was going on. We had asked for a table for 6, but were seated at a table for six, however they did let us put a chair in the walkway even though it was against the fire code. There was a loud TV on right above our table, but they said we could stand on a chair and turn it off.
We had to repeatedly ask for our drinks, and after waiting several minutes for our food the waitress came back and said our order got deleted and so we had to order again. It took over an hour to get our food and when it did finally arrive there was no silverware. The server said that she would go find some, but after a while more of waiting we just went and found some ourselves.
The fajitas came with corn tortillas instead of the ordered wheat tortillas, and the place in the bowl that should have held guacamole was empty. The waitress said that there had been guacamole, so it must have just fallen off en route to the table. All the food seemed pretty average and unremarkable at best.
The waitress said that she would buy us a desert for our troubles, we almost turned it down though because we were in a hurry to get to a show. After waiting some more for desert it wasn't even what we had ordered because the restaurants freezer had broken and so they didn't have any ice cream.
After all of these inconveniences I would expect a manager to come out and offer to give us the meal on the house, or at least apologize for the subpar service. I'd be a little more understandable if the restaurant was busy, but the restaurant was less than half full. I do not think I will be...
