We were delighted to see the fresh, creative décor. The redesign of the former Costa Vida created an inviting new space for Twin Falls. The booth where we ate was spacious and comfortable. We also had a good view of some parts of the cooking line, which was enjoyable.
Roberto, our server, was affable, attentive, and very kind. He took very good care of us. In many ways, his service was the highlight of the meal. The restaurant has done well in hiring this fine young professional.
The food was served promptly, was piping hot (as it should be) and was, for the most part, delicious.
I had the "Spicy Ramen" with a spice level of 1 (mild). The spice was piquant but enjoyable. The other levels include chili paste (level 2) and chili paste and habanero paste (level 3) so spice lovers can get as much capsaicin as they wish. The ramen broth was rich, and its umami was flavorful and broad, but not overwhelming. The marinated eggs were perfectly prepared with a velvety yolk and mild taste that complemented the rich broth. The noodles were slightly softer than al dente, which--to my taste--is perfect.
My wife's "Chicken Curry Rice" was good (she reports), but had perhaps too much curry and not enough piquancy. There also didn't seem to be a very generous portion of chicken in this particular presentation.
The gyoza was slightly disappointing in that they weren't filled as much as we expected nor were they as flavorful as some we have had. Our dinner partners ordered sesame balls which were served hot and soft. The filling was sweet and slightly savory.
One small complaint was that the water I was served had a stale ice flavor (or something) that was a little off-putting, but as I ate my meal, that flavor was subsumed in the flavors of the appetizers and ramen.
We sampled several sushi rolls ranging in flavor from the delicacy of Rainbow Roll to the spicier Foxy Lady to the robust and crunchy Fire Cracker. The menu contains a range of options that are likely to please almost any sushi palate.
A final concern was that the host (a young woman) was not very engaged with the crush of diners hoping to join the wait list. We had to approach her and ask for service rather than being greeted upon arrival. She seemed a little out of her depth, but perhaps her customer service skills will improve with time and experience.
Overall, a delightful evening that we hope to repeat soon. Nara is a fine addition to dining options...
Read moreWe used to eat there often but tonight we chose th all you can eat they initially said one thing at the register with two adults full price the kids half price when the waiter came she corrected the cashier/waiter and said the price is different she checked and said it was half price for my two eldest and free for the kids I asked her to make sure since the first person had told me other wise, I said if not I will only order per item. She came back and said smaller kids free and two older ones half price with two adults regular price. At time to pay the bill was $140 around that then I asked why it was so high he said cause it’s three regular price and two younger half off and baby free the I said that’s not what you had said before we ordered. Story short he then added another child half price and it went up to $158 which I said that’s not correct I even asked before ordering if not we weren’t going to order that much and just pay per items. After a whole argument he kept saying are your kids Human? Like three times and I said you can’t be changing the price you guys have to be on the same page. My husband told him to not talk to that way. The waiter /cashier started saying you pay or I call the cops and kept saying he if my kids weee human or not. My husband told him to stop yelling me in a bad manner and he proceeded to act like he was having a meltdown. I will never go back to this place not only was the spicy tuna looking like it was mixed with hot Cheeto powder fake looking, but the service was beyond ridiculous rude and not professional. I clearly asked for the manager various of times and some guy who doesn’t even speak English came out acting like he was the boss, the younger guy had said he was the manager which he clearly wasn’t because manger don’t give this horrible service to there customers. I bet about of other customers have encounter the same issue with there all you can eat. Definitely never giving them my...
Read moreTook the family to eat for my son's 13th birthday. Have been there in past, and have never been super impressed, but it's where he wanted to go. We were seated quickly, but without menus, or our drink order taken. About ten minutes later our server reappears to take our drink order. About fifteen twenty minutes pass she comes to take our order, we order some sushi, and some appetizers. Still no drinks. About fifteen more minutes or so pass and our apps show up, and a roll of sushi, and one drink. I make a comment a comment about the price of drinks, versus the amount it takes to get them doesn't really seem worth it. All of sudden our drinks magically appeared. Four were completely undrinkable, they had been burnt, one was a mispour (which they argued with us about), and when we reordered the drinks it didn't take nearly an hour to remake them. Now mind you, our server has only taken half our parties orders at this point, and I have to keep hunting her down, because she's too busy visiting. The restaurant has about four total tables and three servers. She finally takes the rest of the orders, after most of us are done eating our food. The food itself was mediocre at best, but again it's what he wanted, we knew what we were getting. I was just flood at the service, or lack there of. Then to top it all off, since there was seven of us they automatically add an 18% gratuity to the bill. We involuntarily had to tip them $27 for some of the worst service...
