Tucked away on a cozy corner of the city, The Clover & Crown is exactly what you hope for in an Irish pub — warm, welcoming, and filled with the kind of charm that makes you want to stay just a bit longer than planned.
From the moment you step in, you’re greeted by the rich scent of wood, a gentle buzz of laughter, and the melodic hum of traditional Irish music (with just the right hint of modern classics thrown in). The décor is authentic without trying too hard — dark wood panels, Celtic knots, and vintage Guinness posters give the space a timeless feel.
The staff are friendly in that genuinely Irish way — quick with a pint, quicker with a story, and always happy to make a recommendation. The Guinness is poured perfectly (you can taste the difference when it’s done right), and the whiskey selection is impressive, ranging from local favorites to rarer bottles for connoisseurs.
As for the food — hearty is the word. The beef and Guinness stew is rich and comforting, the fish and chips are crispy and fresh, and their shepherd’s pie is exactly the kind of soul-warming dish you’d want on a rainy day.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet pint, a lively evening with friends, or even just a taste of Ireland away from home, The Clover & Crown delivers. It’s not just a pub — it’s...

From the moment you step through the door, you’re greeted with the kind of friendly banter and welcoming smiles that make you feel like a regular—even if it’s your first time. The wooden interior, soft lighting, and traditional Irish music set the tone without feeling overdone or touristy.
The staff are quick, genuine, and always up for a bit of craic. Drinks are well-priced and expertly poured, especially the Guinness (which they take their time with—as they should). They also stock a solid range of Irish whiskeys for anyone who likes to sip something stronger.
Whether you’re looking to catch live music, watch a rugby match, or just unwind with good company and better beer, this place nails the vibe. It doesn’t feel like a themed pub—it feels authentic.
Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Irish culture, comfort food, and a proper pint in a place where strangers become...
Read moreDon’t for one second think the kindness is genuine. At first the staff seemed like they were going above and beyond to make our experience a good one (bare minimum in my opinion) it became very clear there is one clear motive for doing so; and I can assure you it isn’t for the love or passion of the venue. After spending a significant amount of money, around £120gbp, the particular worker who decided off his own back to continue to serve us at our table, provided us with the bill. Considering we spend a hefty amount of money between two people, he said out loud ‘so after buying double shots all evening, you can’t afford to tip?’ Then THREW our receipt at us. The behaviour is aggressive and just completely uncalled for. The bar is a nice place to go especially if you are looking to watch football, otherwise make sure you order your drinks at the bar and don’t be fooled for fake kindness from the staff or you too will experience the genuine motive of...
